8 Moons to Midnight is published
After 20 years of exploring, researching, writing and rewriting, 8 Moons to Midnight– The Eclipse of Australia’s Stonehenge has been published. It is a two part book. One part is Tigomunning’s Tale – a captivating fictional reconstruction of the life of one of the Duangwurrung clans; about their life, long before and then, very briefly, after the white invasion by south east Australia’s first squatters and settlers. It tells the story of the clan’s generations-long journey of discoveries and development, from hunter-gatherers to farmers.
The other part, David’s Journey, tells the story of my discoveries and research. These allowed me to slowly uncover details of the clan’s pre and post white historic life. These allowed me to construct Tigomunning’s Tale. The evidence that I found included long rugged stone walls, caves protected by stone barriers, rock art depicting the stages, and stone calendars pointing to the winter solstice, all of which revealed a sophisticated system of rounding up, selecting and slaughter of kangaroos.
